The purpose of this list is to provide an ongoing reference for people looking for a help desk service. So I will re-issue it as I collect more services. But note that you should compile a list of your help desk requirements before you start comparing candidates for your own enterprise.

Help Desk Services List Background

Following requests for alternatives to Freshdesk, I’ve started this basic list of help desk services. Next, I will filter this list to identify true Freshdesk alternatives. Then you will be able to make your own comparisons. In order to select the help desk service that works best for your enterprise.

Obviously, comparisons depend on the specific features that you require. So along the way, I will compile a list of typical features. Note that these features tend to be quite general. Therefore, you will need to examine features to explore how they apply to you. (I.e. assess how provider features are your benefits). But don’t worry as I will provide templates to guide you on creating your own help desk criteria for comparison and selection purposes.

Help Desk Services List Method

My starting point was the 4 services from my earlier investigation[1]. But I realized that list had already been heavily filtered by the parameters of that project. So I started this mission to include as many help desk services as possible in this first cut.

My best starting point was Freshdesk itself. As I assumed they would already have identified their main competitors. Perhaps providing import services.

Unfortunately, their website search engine is distinctly average. So I created HelpDeskSearch for Better Freshdesk Search. Next I searched Freshdesk.com for ‘compare OR alternative OR migrate OR import OR export’. This gives me a good starting point for this first issue of my help desk services list. Then I can extend my search to other comparison sites in my next issue.
